July 17th Systems Thinking in Evaluation Workshop
In this workshop we will explore ways to apply systems thinking to evaluation. After addressing a basic understanding of systems, we will focus on different types of human system dynamics—random (unorganized), simple and complicated (organized), and complex adaptive (self-organizing) system dynamics. These dynamics are relevant to working with interactions among people and with the natural environment. Understanding these dynamics helps you design and carry out your evaluation in complex situations. You will have an opportunity to learn and apply systems tools with colleagues through the use of a case study and your own situations. Participants need some knowledge of evaluation.
