Typically each CLIP operates for a school year. For example, one CLIP meets twice a month, sometimes over lunch. Some CLIPs may continue to operate from year to year with a mix of previous and new members.
- Each CLIP develops its own schedule and structure for carrying out its inquiry.
- All CLIPs meet together in multi-CLIP meetings three times during the year. These meetings are important in building connections across campus. At the Fall Orientation Meeting, they learn about the Eight Guiding Principles, plan their inquiry and develop their ways of working as a CLIP. At the Mid-Year Adjustment Meeting, they clarify their tasks for the rest of the year. At the Spring Presentation and Feedback Meeting, each CLIP practices communicating the findings from its inquiry and receives feedback from members of other CLIPs. Each CLIP also learns about the discoveries of the other CLIPs.
- Each CLIP produces a final product about its inquiry by mid-summer.
